Ice skating, hockey, and mosaics

This weekend Matthew had a great idea to take the girls ice skating. So I called up Michael and invited him and Avery to go with us. So a few hours later there we were getting skates for the girls and boys (except for Brian). No I did not participate. I watched from the sidelines and took pictures. Matthew took turns skating around the rink with the girls. I think Katy went twice before she was done. Vail had a blast and according to her Daddy she improved 100% before they were done. I think Avery may have gone around twice also. It seemed like she made Michael exit and rest at every opening. :) Thank goodness the girls were all free. Matthew got to practice his skating by himself in the end. After we left we stopped for lunch at Which Wich and then home for naps.

Matthew and Katy are way in the background.

This year Matthew has decided to take up the sport of hockey. Unfortunatly the teams were all full so for now he is a sub. On Saturday he got a call that he was needed if he was available and boy was he excited. The game was that night at 10:15. I know who plays hockey at that time? So that night after some burgers and a little Guitar hero with Michael and Brian, Matthew went to his game. Michael went along to watch and snap some photos. They lost the game but Matthew had a blast. :) I must say he does look ruggedly handsome in all of his gear.

Today it snowed for about 4 hours and now the sun is out and there are blue skies. We ventured out to our local Michaels craft store in search of a project for the girls to do. I found these mosaic animals for them to make. They were on the dollar rack. It is basically just foam with tape on the bottom and you stick them all over the ball shape. Vail picked the fish (of course) and Katy picked the dog. It was a good 45 minutes of entertainment.

Natalie and Micah come for a visit on Wednesday! Have fun this week!
