Monday I took Vail down to the beauty shop to get her hair done. :) We went to the local Snip Its. It is a really fun place for kids to get their hair cut. Vail has never had hers cut and since we have a wedding in about three weeks where she is a flower girl I figured we better let a professional take care of it. I told Vail that morning that we were going to get her hair cut and she got very excited and said "ok let's go get my hair cut." (like she had done it before) She was wearing her princess dress that Grams gave her for her birthday so I let her keep it on. I figured that wasn't a battle I wanted to fight right now especially since I wasn't sure how she was really going to act when we got there. We arrived at Snip Its and went inside. They gave Vail a little card to wear on her wrist and when we finished with the cut she put it in a slot and got a prize. She walked over and got right up in the chair. The lady put the cape on her and started squirting her hair with water. Vail never made a peep. :) I was very proud of my brave little girl. I told the lady I just wanted to clean it up a bit since it was much longer in the back then on the sides. So that is what we got. It really isn't that much of a difference. Just neater looking. I was a little nervous that her curls would be gone (she has some in the front and around the bottom of her hair) but much to my relief they are still there. If you are wondering what Katy was doing during this time well I was chasing her around trying to keep her out of all the hair :) She did really good there was so much for her to look at. Maybe in two years she will have some hair to cut too. After we left we went to show Matthew her new do. When he got in the car with us Vail said "Daddy I got a hair cut" Matthew says "It looks so beautiful" Vail replies "Yeah she skirted me"
Matthew looks at me and I told him I had no idea what she was talking about. She says it again. Matthew says "Oh, did she squirt you?" Pretty funny. Then we went to eat and Vail was telling everyone that she got her hair cut. She had a pretty fun day. Well I'm off to finish icing my fish cake.....

How cute is she? I think that shop sounds so great. I wonder if they have one around here? Not that I should worry about it. I think that Mabry may never have hair long enough to cut.

Man I wish I had a place like that to go when I was little to have my hair cut! I wish I had a place like that now what am I talking about?? hehe! But I that is great that Vail was a good girl during her first haircut! =] She is growing up to fast! before you know it you will be helping her plan her wedding =P hehe j/k.
