Third Coast Pottery

This morning I took the girls to a paint your own pottery place. We had a lot of fun and it wasn't as messy as I thought it was going to be. I painted their footprints on tiles and let them pick out something (reasonably priced) to paint themselves. Vail (of course) picked a fish. I was curious to see what Katy would pick. Usually she does whatever Vail does. Initially she did pick the fish to paint, but then after looking around she finally decided on a duck. I let them each pick out three colors they wanted to paint with. Vail chose pink, blue, and green. Katy chose yellow, purple and pink. I knew they were pretty much going to end up tie dyed looking anyway. They then began painting. It was a lot of fun. We have done this with Vail before but this was the first time that Katy got to paint her own. She had so much fun basically just slopping the paint on the duck. She did have paint pretty much all over her arms, hands and some on her face. There was one point where she tasted the paint and I was praying it wasn't toxic and wiping her mouth out with a wet wipe (which is probably just as toxic). I think Vail used at least 8 paint brushed. Anyway we are all alive and we had a fun morning. Vail was a bit unhappy she didn't get to take her fish straight home. I told her when we could come back and get it that the lady was going to make it nice and shiny for her, but she wanted it just the way she had painted it. She will be so happy when we go back to get it. I am sure she will carry it everywhere she goes for a day or two.

Katy had her 2 year checkup yesterday. Everything looked great. She is now a whopping 25 lbs 6oz and in the 25th percentile for weight and 33in tall and in the 30th percentile for height. She is short and skinny :) He also said her speech was above average :) When he was leaving she said "see you later Dr. White" He turned to me and smiled and said "that is not normal". Love her!! After the doctor left the room Katy said "I feel better"! Vail was a bit worried because Katy didn't leave with any band aids. She didn't quite understand that Katy wasn't sick or hurt.

Getting ready to paint...obviously I had asked them to say cheese ;)

We are making it (barely) while Matthew is gone. Everyday Vail talks about what she is going to do with Matthew. Today she said he is going to take her swimming. Don't know where that came from. Katy likes to just sing his name over and over and pretend she is going on a trip to. The other day I asked her who she was going on a trip to see and she said "Jesus". By the end of the day I am totally and utterly exhausted. In the morning when I get up I feel the same way. Sometime during the day I have some energy but then it slowly fades away. Tomorrow my friend Melodie is coming over to help me get some things done. I don't think she really knows what she has gotten herself into. Also I took those pictures with my phone so they aren't the best quality. Matthew has the camera this week in Cali.
