Everyone's got a bandaid

Today was Vail's 4 year check up and Micah 2 month check up. Let me just say it was not a fun morning. I have been dreading this day since the doctor told me Vail was going to have to have 4 shots. I could only imagine how much she was going to hate me when it was over. We got to the doctor and Vail was being so cute. She had her hearing, vision, weight, and height checked and then she was skipping down the hall with the nurse talking about her favorite color and who her favorite princess is. I looked at Matthew and said "she has no idea what is coming." She is so brave. She will try just about anything. She let the doctor look at her even though I could tell she was nervous. Then we had to wait about 30 minutes between the doctor and the nurse coming back with her swords. During this time Katy had her finger shut in the door and it started bleeding. When the nurse came back Vail did so good. She held my hands and I could barely tell she had been poked except for a bit of flinching (during the first two shots). The last two shots burned and Vail screamed. It was terrible. I cried. Then it was over. She cried for like 3 minutes. Then Micah had his shots and cried for like 30 seconds. Then we went and got ice cream. Nothing like a pre lunch scoop right!? Here are the stats....
Micah finally surpassed his 4 month old cousin Elsie and weighs 13 lbs 15oz. He is 23 1/4 inches tall. The doctor said he was very solid. I will take that as a compliment. Vail is 50th percentile in everything, 35lbs 39inches.

Boy am I glad that is over with!

Vail looks like she is proud of her war wounds with the nurse, Micah (in the first pic) does not look at all happy and Katy, well she just looks like she is glad she wasn't either of her siblings today.

Love to all,
A. Cheri

What a brave girl Vail was. Love all the photos. Hope Katy's finger is feeling better. We go for the 2 year appointment for Mabry at the very end of this month. Maybe we should call Vail ahead of time for a pep talk.

oh, i DREAD shot day too!!! for so many reasons. maybe that's why our 2 and 4 well visits won't be until 2 1/2 and 4 1/2! ug. so glad it's over and they did well. hope they are feeling ok today.
can i just say how huge micah is!!! i think it's absolutely wonderful, but it really blows my mind when i think about the fact that suzannah didn't even weigh that much at ONE!!! (which is not wonderful!)
glad they are so healthy...especially micah ;)
